Introduction

The inside story of the mental mastery tricks I used to go from broke idealist to millionaire realist in less than 365 days.

I had studied success literature since I was 18. Twenty three years later, I still had the average lifestyle. I had a library of hundreds of books and tapes. I had attended scores of seminars. I had even taught several seminars. I believed in all the information I had read. I could talk the talk. I was highly educated on the subject of success. However, the truth was that I had not yet achieved any great level of success in my own life.

Then, at 41, I had yet another business failure, my marriage fell apart and I was left wondering what on earth I was doing with my life. I decided to get serious about life and success. I spent four years in critical self-examination and in the study of what I knew to be the real success secrets of the masters. I found the missing key. It was not the knowledge of success that brings success. It is the direct application of that knowledge to the way life is lived on a daily basis that brings success.

So, at 45, broke but newly determined, I set about to act on what I knew. Within in one year, I had created a $million income. Within the next five years, my business had made $60 million in sales. I had achieved what I had only previously dreamed of achieving. I was now living the millionaire lifestyle. Why? Because I had adopted the millionaire mindset.

If you are ready to give up the struggle and begin to live a life of ease and fulfillment, you will discover in these few pages the exact process I used to achieve a super-successful life, a process that you can duplicate. I have kept it short and sweet. No padding, no fluff, no inspirational examples, no extraneous information, just the short summary of the success secrets of the masters that I used and have since taught to thousands of others.

For more complete information, obtain a copy of The DELFIN Knowledge System. Over 30,000 people have already found their own success and happiness in these 17 eBooks.

You can too.

Change
Your Mind

You are not your mind. You have a mind. It is your possession. Like all possessions, it can own you back if you let it. Like all possessions, it is yours to misuse, abuse or use to your advantage. Self-mastery and success begins with control of your mind.

Think

I read Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill at least ten times before I got it. Maybe I am slower than most. It was not until I remembered that Hill got his inspiration from Andrew Carnegie (and his buddies) and I went and studied Carnegie's life that I actually understood what Hill was getting at.

There are two secrets to thinking and growing rich. The first is that you must learn to think for yourself and the second is that you must learn to intentionally control your own thoughts.

It is estimated, by those who claim to know, that the average person has about 60,000 thoughts per day. The number does not matter. It could be 60. What matters is what these thoughts are.

Most people do not think for themselves. They allow their training or education and their culture to determine what they think. Most people are not even aware of what they think and why they think what they do. Most people don't even attempt to control exactly what they think. They just allow their random daily thought processes to go on, unexamined and uncontrolled.

If you want to be successful you must determine what you are thinking and why; and then, you must determine to think on purpose. That is, you must consciously and intentionally choose to hold in mind those specific thoughts that will contribute to your success.

You must learn to think for yourself. The groupthink of society does not produce the millionaire mindset. If it did, the average person would be a millionaire. If you want to be a millionaire, you must opt out of societal groupthink and learn to think for yourself.

Your thoughts create your reality. If you want to know how and why that is so, then study the information in The DELFIN Knowledge System. It explains how consciousness creates. If you want your reality to change, you must change your thinking. You must think your own purposefully chosen thoughts.

Examine your daily thought processes and then decide to control what you think.

Step one in adopting the millionaire mindset is to examine the workings of your own mind, discover what you are thinking, where those thoughts come from and what those thoughts are creating in your life. Then, consciously and intentionally choosing to discard those thoughts that do not serve you and to take on those that do.

Change
Your Mind

Believe

Just as it is with your thinking, so it must be with your believing. Do you know what you believe and why you believe it? Where did those beliefs come from? Do they serve you?

For example, the common societal belief is in scarcity and paucity, not abundance and prosperity.

People often believe that there is not enough wealth to go around. The opposite is true. There are more millionaires today than ever before. The overall wealth and prosperity of humankind is greater now than ever before. Wealth creates more wealth. The more wealthy people there are, the more possibility there is for more people to get wealthy. Poor people believe in scarcity. Wealthy people believe in abundance.

People often believe that if someone has wealth, they must have done something wrong or taken away something from someone else. In fact, in most cases, people get wealthy because they have added value to the lives of others and increased the overall wealth of their community, nation or world.

For example, Andrew Carnegie is often lumped together with the class of so-called 'robber barons', yet Carnegie actually managed to give away more money in his lifetime than he made. He built thousands of free libraries around the world and the Carnegie Foundation, years after Carnegie's death, is still giving money away. He was such a bad guy, wasn't he? Poverty is not a virtue. It is a curse.

People often believe that it is selfish or unspiritual to desire and have wealth. This is just plain nonsense. It is the wealthy who are able to contribute more to others. It is the wealthy who have the time and freedom to focus on the spiritual aspects of life. One of the pre-requisites of being wealthy is a firm belief in the divine and the desire of the divine for the individual to prosper.

People often believe that they do not deserve wealth. At the same time, they believe that the wealthy are somehow corrupt or selfish or take unfair advantage of others. So then, how do they deserve wealth and you, while more altruistic in your judgment, do not?

People often believe that they have to work hard to obtain wealth. Examine the lives of the wealthy. Does it look to you like they are working harder than the poor person who, by the sweat of his brow, barely manages to feed and clothe himself and his family?

Step two in adopting the millionaire mindset is to examine your core beliefs and dump those that do not serve you and take on those that do. You must accept that you have been led to believe or taught to believe in things that are not true and then you must exert your will to choose new beliefs that serve you.

Your Mind

Go Within

So long as you allow the external world to determine how you think, how you feel and how you act, you will remain a mere creature of event and circumstance.

Most people allow the events and circumstances of the external world to shape their reality picture and their resulting prosperity. The wealthy, on the other hand, rely upon their own sense of what is real. In fact, many very wealthy people are completely out of touch with reality (or what is commonly accepted as reality). It is often said that "so and so" does not have a clue how normal people live their lives. Of course not. Why would they want to? They live an extraordinary life. That's what they want to know about, not commonality.

Successful people create their own reality pictures within their own imaginations using their own idealizations and by learning to externalize their visualizations. They go against the grain. They either find or create the events and circumstances that are necessary for success. They willfully ignore the events and circumstances that do not serve their success. Everyday reality means very little to them.

The most important tools you need to succeed are internal tools. Insight, imagination, idealization, visualization, intuition, intentionality, consciously controlled thought, intentionally held beliefs, personal purpose and passion are all more important to your success than what is going on in the world around you.

These tools and skills are discovered and then honed by spending time inside your self. It must become a habit to continuously check in with yourself to see what you are thinking, imagining and idealizing. It must become a habit to visualize and affirm the reality of your dreams and ambitions. It must become a habit to be and act 'on purpose' and with passion.

Only in the internal world of self can the knowledge and skills that will lead to your success be obtained.

Step three in adopting the millionaire mindset is to enact the discipline to daily spend time in contemplation and meditation. Develop insight and wisdom. Create a personal vision.

Change
Your Mind

Affirm

Everything you believe, think, speak and do is an affirmation of who you are and who you are becoming, and an affirmation about the resulting success life will provide you.

The words you speak, to yourself and others, define the quality and the content of your thoughts and beliefs, AND, they affirm your reality. Therefore, you must always talk about that which you desire to be made manifest in your life.

Why waste your breath talking about trivialities, when you can be talking about what is really important to you?

Below average people talk about other people; average people talk about things, events and circumstances; above average people talk about ideas; super successful people talk about their own ideals and visions.

Below average people are affirming the success (or failure) of others; average people are affirming the control that outside things, events and circumstances have over their success; above average people are affirming that it is ideas that contribute to success; super successful people are affirming that their own success and destiny is in their own ideals and visions.

Step four in adopting the millionaire mindset is to constantly affirm, to yourself and others, the reality of your vision and your success. Speak always about what you hold for ideals and what you envision.

Assign
A Purpose

There are those who say that life has no purpose and no meaning. By that choice of belief, they prove themselves right. The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose. What is that purpose? Whatever you decide.

If you do not self-assign a purpose for your life, one of two things will result. The first is that a purpose will get assigned to you. You may not like it much. The second is that you will end up living a life of no purpose. You won't like that much either. Self-mastery and success depends upon choosing to what purpose you journey through life.

Intention

Everything you are and do is either with or without intent. Things done without intent produce unintentional results. This is exactly why so many end up with happenstancial lives. They have little or no intentionality in what they believe, think, feel, say or do.

Ask the average person what their intent is in thinking what they think. Chances are they will not even understand the question.

However, if you wish to be a high achiever and have a super successful life, you must learn to constantly ask yourself…

What is my intention in believing what I believe?
What is my intention in thinking what I think?
What is my intention in feeling what I feel?
What is my intention in doing what I do?
What is my intention in how I am being and in what I am doing?
To what end or purpose do I choose to believe, to think, to feel, to say and to do exactly what I believe, what I think, what I feel, what I say and what I do?

As soon as you begin to think with intent, to believe with intent, to feel with intent, to speak with intent and to act with intent, you will end up having the life you intend. So long as you do not bring intentionality to who you are and how you are being in this world, you will achieve the life you fail to intend…in other words, an accidental or happenstancial run-of-the-mill life. It is not too difficult to understand, is it?

Step five in adopting the millionaire mindset is to live with intent, to think intentionally and to act intentionally…on purpose. Either you do it on purpose or you do it by accident and you produce an intentional or accidental life.

Assign
A Purpose

Esteem

Have you ever noticed that many very successful people have a very high opinion of themselves? You might suspect that because of their success, they have developed a bit of an ego. But, in most cases, the exact opposite is the truth…they are successful, in a great part, due to a very high level of self-esteem that they had adopted prior to their success.

Many, maybe even most, people are crippled by a suspicion that they might not actually be worthy of great success. Many people who manage to achieve some high level of success without having developed a high level of self-esteem, go on to sabotage their own success, simply because they don't believe they are worthy. They don't feel special enough to merit great things.

There is nothing wrong with feeling special. You are. In the entire universe, you are unique. Adopting a high level of self-esteem is not placing yourself above others. It is simply the recognition of your uniqueness and your sacredness. If others choose to feel that you are egotistical because you think a lot of yourself, then that is their problem and their choice to have a lesser level of self-esteem.

There are two essential types of esteem that successful people have. The first is a high self-esteem. The second is a high esteem or reverence for life.

Life itself must be or seem important and valuable. After all, what is the point in success, or anything for that matter, if life is meaningless and without value? You must choose to believe that life itself, and your part in it, is important, sacred even.

Step six in adopting the millionaire mindset is to be reverent of self and of life. Learn to place a very high value on your life, your time and your actions. Others will then follow suit. Learn to place a very high value on life in general and all things will become more valuable to you.

Assign
A Purpose

Goals

Despite all the advice that has ever been written about goals, not one in ten people have taken the time to clearly and concisely write down their specific goals.

Many people have vague aspirations or hopes. These are not goals. They are mere whims. Goals are not something you'd like to achieve. Goals are the necessary steps on your path to fulfillment of your life's purpose.

Many people have actually established clear goals but don't manage to achieve them because they have not known or thought to include all the necessary elements of goal achievement.

You can find the eleven basic elements of goal setting in my eBook, Destiny, which is included in Volume Two of the DELFIN Knowledge System.

How can you possibly know if you are winning the game of life if you do not score goals and keep track of the score? Oh, so you don't think that life is a game? I guess that is why it is no fun. Life is a game. Most people, however, choose to sit on the sidelines and be spectators rather than players.

Step seven in adopting the millionaire mindset is to set clear, specific, written goals that are in tune with the self-assigned purpose of your life.

Get
Passionate

A life without passion is not a life; it is merely an existence. Passion is the fuel that feeds the fire that provides the light that enables you to see clearly your pathway forward into an otherwise obscure future.

Vision

The only way to see where you are going is to create a vision. Otherwise, you'll just end up stumbling around in the dark. This may sound like some trite cliché, but it is just the simple truth.

Everyone who has ever accomplished great things or had a super successful life has had a vision for their life.

Those who lack a vision end up living within the commonality. What is the common vision in today's society? Average. Middle class. Suburbia. A 9 to 5 job. Mortgage payments. A big screen TV. A couple of kids. A pension fund and retirement. Sound familiar? Sound exciting? Or sound like what you've been led to expect is your lot in life?

If you want to have a happy life, there are two ways to accomplish that. The first is to be satisfied with your lot in life. The second is to get a lot out of life. To do that, you will need to develop a vision for your life. If you want more than the average, you'll have to create your own unique vision of what that means to you.

All those who accomplish great things find a way to get other people to support their success. Those who lack their own vision will often choose to take on the strongly held and strongly professed vision of others. People will follow and support your dream, your vision.

Step eight in adopting the millionaire mindset is to develop the personal clarity you need to envision your future.

Get
Passionate

Charisma

Someone walks into a crowded room. Everyone turns to look. There is something special about this person. She has some aura that makes her stand out from the crowd. It is the aura of success. It is charisma.

For some unknown reason, people want to be associated with this person. People long to bask in his or her light and feel that their own sense of self is enhanced, simply by being in the presence of the person who has this mysterious charisma. You've felt it. You've seen the effect it has on people.

What is charisma? There are many little things, some intangible, that give a person a charismatic personality, but the primary one is attitude.

You can be beautiful, witty, charming, have a winning smile and handshake, dress in the finest clothes and lack charisma. You can be ugly, boring, rude, of dour disposition and dress like it doesn't matter and have incredible charisma, if you have developed the appropriate attitude towards life and towards your place in it.

Scoundrels and idiots get elected to public office because they have charisma. Mediocre minds end up as presidents of major corporations because they have charisma. People of little talent end up as entertainment superstars because they have charisma. People with lesser talent, lower intelligence, fewer skills and less ambition than you end up as millionaires because they have charisma.

Charisma attracts success just as it attracts people. Charisma is mostly a question of attitude. Attitudes can be taken on.

Step nine in adopting the millionaire mindset is to develop personal charisma. If you want to stand above the crowd, then you must stand out from the crowd. Be more. Be bigger than life. Know that you are destined for greatness. Have the winner's attitude.

Get
Passionate

Desire

It is the intensity of passion that separates the average from the exceptional. Nearly everybody wants to be successful. Some have a burning desire to be successful. I'll let you decide who usually achieves success.

Desire is more than just an intense feeling. Desire is the metaphysical equivalent of gravity. It draws to you the people, elements, things and finances necessary to realize the ideal you desire to have made manifest.

Both thought and desire are electromagnetic output of self. When directed desire is attached to specific purposeful thought, you create a standing waveform that tunnels into the quantum sea of potentiality to collapse the reality you idealize and visualize. What you see is what you get, when you have intertwined your thought with desire.

Desire is the prime motivating force. If you have sufficient desire, you will never need to attend some motivational seminar to get pumped up. You will pump up others with your passion for your vision.

Step ten in adopting the millionaire mindset is learning to use your passion to bring creative power to your thoughts.

Forge
A Path

If you walk the wide flat road traveled by the majority, you will end up at the same destination. If you want your destiny to be different than the commonality, you will have to forge a different path into the future.

Plan

No one has ever said it more succinctly than Ben Franklin, "Failing to plan is planning to fail."

Every great thing that has ever been accomplished has happened because there was a plan. It may not have gone exactly according to plan, but it would not have happened at all if there had not been a plan.

Plans can be adapted. The lack of a plan almost always ends with no result or a result that is not desired.

In order to achieve extraordinary success you must have and follow a plan. The plan must be your own. That is, you must own your own plan. If you follow someone else's plan, you'll end up at the destination they have chosen.

Most people do not live their life according to plan. Many who do live according to plan, live according to someone else's plan or society's plan.

Those who are the big achievers always have their own plan. People with a plan attract those who don't have their own. These people support the plan they follow. Inspire others with your plan and you will bring success to them and, proportionately, to yourself.

The eleventh step in adopting the millionaire mindset is to create your own unique plan for your own life. Failure to have a plan to live by is planning to live a life of failures.

Forge
A Path

Enact

Information, knowledge and even wisdom are only useful in their application. You can sit and stare at your navel all you want, but if you don't actually pull the lint out, it will still be there tomorrow.

No matter how much knowledge you have and no matter how great the plan you devise for your life is, if you do not go about doing what is necessary, nothing will happen. You must enact your beingness in order to have an impact on the world around you.

It is action, not knowledge, that empowers and creates results. It is often said that knowledge is power. This is not true. Knowledge is only potential power. Applied knowledge is power.

Many of the most knowledgeable and educated people are the planet are living in scarcity, lack and limitation. They may know, but they do not do.

You must do the doing. It is the proof of your knowing. Without the doing, it is only theory. It is the application that proves the theory.

Set your game plan. Establish your goals, then set about to enact your vision. Once you do, the world will conspire to assist you in making it real.

All the doingness without a vision and without a plan only produces random and scattered results and all the planning and envisioning without action produces nothing measurable.

The twelfth step in adopting the millionaire mindset is to do what is necessary to enact your specific ideals, vision and plans. Win is an acronym for Whatever Is Necessary.

Forge
A Path

Persist

Purpose plus passion plus persistence equals prosperity. That is as succinct as I can make it. Persistence is all-important. There are so many clichés, like winners never quit and quitters never win, that people mouth but do not actually believe and take to heart. If you want the millionaire mindset, you must learn to keep on keepin' on, no matter what.

No one has ever said it better than Calvin Coolidge:

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

Your vision and your desire will fuel your persistence. They will enable you to treat obstacles in your path as opportunities to learn and gather strength rather than allow them to act as roadblocks or reasons to quit. Your resolve will strengthen in the face of obstacles rather than weaken when you are resolved to persist rather than desist when difficulties arise (as they will), when you are fired by your desire and inspired by your vision and guided by your plan.

The thirteenth step in adopting the millionaire mindset is to make up your mind to persist in the face of apparent impediments. It is the choice to view impediments or obstacles as tests designed to strengthen and empower you, rather than signs that you are on the wrong path.

Be
Appreciative

Appreciation has two meanings: first, it means to understand and enjoy the value of something; and second, it means to grow in value. Your appreciation of what life brings you demonstrates that you comprehend the value of the thing AND it, by your appreciation actually increases the value of the thing, so that it, in turn provides you with even more value.

Gratitude

Like everything else on the path to mastery, gratitude is a choice. You can choose to wait for some meaningfully pleasant situation to arise and then feel gratitude in response, or you can choose to be grateful at all times, in all circumstances, and watch as the world conspires to assist you in your path.

Although many people make the mistake of not being grateful for what they have already received from life, most people do not even understand the necessity to be grateful for the possibilities that life holds.

Being grateful, in advance, for the fulfillment of your goals is one of the most overlooked millionaire mindset secrets. Gratitude in advance is a powerful technique. It tricks your subconscious in getting past doubts about the reality of your ideals; and it enacts the law of attraction to actually bring to you that which you are grateful for having.

The bottom line is that gratitude helps you keep (and enjoy) that which you have; and it helps you attain that which you aspire to.

The fourteenth step in adopting the millionaire mindset is to learn to be grateful and express your gratitude for all that life offers and presents to you.

Be
Appreciative

Relish

"All of the animals, excepting man, know that the principal business of life is to enjoy it."
— Samuel Butler

Oh what value is anything if it is not enjoyed?

Possessions, not enjoyed, are worth nothing and can weigh you down instead of lift you up. Experiences, not enjoyed, are a waste of your precious and dwindling time on earth.

Life would be a lot more meaningful and enjoyable if you were as concerned about the width and depth of your life as you are about the length of it. Take pleasure in what you have. Enjoy yourself and the things that life brings you.

The richest person, who has it all but without enjoyment, is as poor as the person who has nothing. You demonstrate your lust for life and all that it has to offer by relishing what you have. It shows that you value what you have and what you will have. It validates that you deserve more.

If you can take no joy in what you have now, what makes you believe that you will take joy in having what you want? Relish adds flavor.

The fifteenth step in adopting the millionaire mindset is to enjoy the game, the journey, the lessons, the gifts, the struggles, the accomplishments and your own self.

Be
Appreciative

Revere

"For everything that lives is holy, life delights in life."
— William Blake

A belief in the divine and in the sacred nature of life and in the desire of the divine for you to have all that you desire is fundamental to the millionaire mindset. You do not have to be some devout follower of some religious belief, but you do have to be, in some way, intimately connected to the infinite, ineffable sacredness in order to tap into universal abundance and get the share you aspire to.

Many people allow some inherited puritanical belief that the divine does not want people to be wealthy to unconsciously sabotage their success. Poverty is not a virtue; it is a curse. Wealth is not a sin; it is a blessing. Those that know and believe that it is a blessing from and of the divine merit the blessing.

The sixteenth step in adopting the millionaire mindset is revere the sacred and to know that it:

  1. Desires your success and happiness
    (more than you do)

  2. Overflows with abundance
    (is the source of all)

  3. Exists in all things
(including you and your cash flow)

  4. Empowers you to use natural laws to create
    (wealth or anything else)

  5. Wants you to contribute
(the more you have [and be], the more you can give)

Be
Appreciative

Contribute

"When you are making a success of something, it's not work. It's a way of life. You enjoy yourself because you are making your contribution to the world."
— Andrew Granatelli

Everything you do adds to the totality of the universe. You create a legacy with every day's actions. It is the cumulative legacy of your days that will ultimately determine the value of your life.

The more success you are enabled to accomplish, the more you are empowered to contribute and the greater legacy you can leave behind you as you travel this journey called life on planet earth.

Ultimately, your true wealth is not measured by what you are able to accumulate, but by what you are enabled to contribute.

The more that you become, the more that you are able to do or enact; and, as a consequence, the more you get to have. Then, the more you have, the more you can contribute. Since you also become more by contributing more (to yourself and to the world around you), it is a continuous empowering upward spiral. Be, do, have…more!

The seventeenth step in adopting the millionaire mindset is recognizing and putting into practice the natural law of sowing and reaping. Give of yourself to the world in order to gain what the world has to offer.

Reciprocity is the name of the game.

Summary

To summarize, the millionaire mindset is obtained when you take these 17 steps:

  1. Examine the workings of your own mind; discover what you are thinking, where those thoughts come from and what those thoughts are creating in your life. Then, consciously and intentionally choosing to discard those thoughts that do not serve you and to take on those that do.

  2. Examine your core beliefs and dump those that do not serve you and take on those that do. You must accept that you have been led to believe or taught to believe in things that are not true and then you must exert your will to choose new beliefs that serve you.

  3. Enact the discipline to daily spend time in contemplation and meditation. Develop insight and wisdom. Create a personal vision.

  4. Constantly affirm, to yourself and others, the reality of your vision and your success. Speak always about what you hold for ideals and what you envision.

  5. Live with intent; think intentionally and to act intentionally…on purpose. Either you do it on purpose or you do it by accident and you produce an intentional or accidental life.

  6. Be reverent of self and of life. Learn to place a very high value on your life, your time and your actions. Others will then follow suit. Learn to place a very high value on life in general and all things will become more valuable to you.

  7. Set clear, specific, written goals that are in tune with the self-assigned purpose of your life.

  8. Develop the personal clarity you need to envision your future. The only way to see where you are going is to create a vision.

  9. Develop personal charisma. If you want to be above from the crowd, then you must stand out from the crowd. Be more. Be bigger than life. Know that you are destined for greatness. Have the winner's attitude.

  10. Learn to use your passion to bring creative power to your thoughts. Desire is the metaphysical equivalent of gravity. It draws to you the elements necessary to fulfill your purpose.

  11. Create your own unique plan for your own life. Failure to have a plan to live by is planning to live a life of failures.

  12. Do what is necessary to enact your specific ideals, vision and plans. Win is an acronym for Whatever Is Necessary.

  13. Persist in the face of apparent impediments. You have a choice to view impediments or obstacles as tests designed to strengthen and empower you, rather than signs that you are on the wrong path.

  14. Learn to be grateful and express your gratitude for all that life offers and presents to you.

  15. Enjoy the game, the journey, the lessons, the gifts, the struggles, the accomplishments and your own self.

  16. Revere the sacred and to know that it: desires your success and happiness (more than you do); overflows with abundance (is the source of all); exists in all things (including you and your cash flow); empowers you to use natural laws to create (wealth or anything else); wants you to contribute (the more you have [and be], the more you can give)

  17. Put into practice the natural law of sowing and reaping. Give of yourself to the world in order to gain what the world has to offer. Reciprocity is the name of the game.

Now you know the millionaire mindset secrets of the masters. Like all knowledge, it is only valuable in the application. It is up to you to choose to apply this knowledge to your life; or failing that application, to know that you have chosen to not take the proven path to wealth and personal fulfillment.
